Precautions

I couldn't believe that storm yesterday. Also, I couldn't believe that we had to drive to Sacramento in that for my doctor's appointment. Luckily, my mom was off of work and we managed to even meet my brother in Elk Grove for lunch and see his new place in Sacramento after the appointment.

The doctor said that I'm doing good. However, my cervix has shortened since my last appointment and she has decided to put me on bedrest at home. Basically, the weight of the babies puts a lot of pressure on my cervix. This can cause the cervix to shorten and result in pre-term labor. By lying down it takes that pressure off. She is not majorly concerned but since I'm only 25 weeks and pregnant with multiples this needs to be done as a precautionary measure.

I did get permission to attend my baby shower on Sunday. For those of you who will be there, you will get to see me fully reclined in my parent's Lazy Boy. Won't that be cute? Lol. The joys of a multiple pregnancy. It is what it is though, and I will be thankful to see everyone.

Being the control freak that I am, I see this as a major challenge from God. How will we survive if I can't cook, clean, or do laundry? Then I remember that is what Mike is for. I can't help but feel bad that he is going to have so much responsibility. I just remind myself of the responsibility I have to carry our babies and it puts things into perspective. This morning started out great with him bringing me my breakfast, snacks, water pitcher, etc. He is even going to get a mini fridge later today and get me set up to be comfortable. For his birthday last week his dad and Fonda got him walkie talkies. They have already come in handy!

We still have some pictures that we haven't posted. I may have to have Mike do that. Please keep the babies and my health in your prayers.
